Student Recognition
Positive points (daily)
Our staff can issue positive points to students each day based on our REACH values. These will show in the Class Charts App so that parents and carers can see these awards in real time. In a typical year, over 93% of awards made are for positive behaviours.
Positive Postcards (termly)
Our Tutor Teams have House branded Positive Postcards to write and post to students each term. These are used to recognise all the amazing things that our students do, big and small, that make Thomas Keble what it is.
House and Year Group awards (termly)
We offer a wide range of recognition and awards through our House System, including awards for Tutor Groups who have demonstrated the REACH values in their approach to their House.
GRIT awards (termly)
At Thomas Keble, we highly value students’ effort and perseverance, believing that this kind of positive, disciplined approach is above all what will determine the amount of progress each student makes. To recognise students’ positive attitudes, average effort scores are calculated after each Progress Review. The Grit Award board recognises the top two students in each Year Group making the best effort across the curriculum, as well as the two students whose average effort scores have improved the most since their last Progress Review. Certificates are awarded to students in assembly, as well as a letter of congratulations going home from the Headteacher.
