Year 7 and Year 8 follow a KS3 programme of study based around the Scheme of Learning recently published by the AQA exam board http://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/science/ks3/ks3-science-syllabus 

The units for this are given below. Students will study these in rotation over the course of the year in Year 7 with the learning being extended in Year 8.

Homework is set once a week in Year 7. In Year 8, one of the weekly homeworks in Terms 1, 3 and 5 will be devoted to the completion of an independent learning task (ILT) designed to look at the three major disciplines in science:

In Year 9 most students prepare for their GCSE by completing the AQA bridging course on Biomimicry before starting the GCSE course in Term 2.
