Exams Information

Exam Results Day – Thursday 21st August

Results will be available from 9:00 am in the main school hall.  Due to ongoing building works, the front of the site will be completely closed off.  Please enter the site via the side gate in Eastcombe park, beside the cricket pavilion.

  • A family member, or friend, can collect results providing the student has given written permission for this, via email to exams@thomaskeble.gloucs.sch.uk.  The written permission must state who is collecting the results and that person must be able to identify themselves (passport or another photo ID);
  • We can email the results, providing we have written permission from the student to do so. This can be via a letter signed by the student or through an email from the student’s own email address. The written permission must detail the email address they wish us to use.  If emailing the request, please email exams@thomaskeble.gloucs.sch.uk (please do not email admin, as this inbox will not be monitored over the summer).

Please email your permission as soon as possible to ensure there is no delay in getting your results to you.

Staff will be available on the morning of Results Day to offer individual advice and guidance on post results options or the next steps to progress to Post-16.  Further details are available on the Information for Candidates - Enquiries About Results (EAR) form   - click here

Mock Exams

Before the main Y11 mock exams, beginning on 2nd December 2024, students will attend an exam briefing assembly where we explain how exams are run. We aim is to make these exams as similar as possible to the summer exams, in line with JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) regulations.

Students have been given a paper copy of the Candidate Exam Information 2024-2025 booklet which should be read by both parents and pupils.  It contains all you need to know about preparing for, and taking, your exams and how you receive your results.

  • Year 11 will sit mock exams in December 2024. Their timetable is HERE.  Mock results will be emailed to parents on 14th January 2025.  The Assessment Point 2 Report will be emailed to parents on 29th January 2025.
  • Year 10 will sit mock exams from 10th April to 7th May 2025. Their timetable is  here.  Mock results will be emailed to parents along with the Assessment Point 3 report on 11th June 2025.

Summer GCSE Exams

Y11 GCSE 2025 Timetabled Written Exams

We enter students for the exams in February when we know which tier they will be taking for Science, Maths and Languages.

A Statement of Entry will then be given to each student to check and ensure their details are correct.

Personal timetables will be issued after Easter.

GCSE exams are regulated by JCQ and they require all students to have read and understood all of the documents in 1 and 2 below.  Pupils will be asked to sign a declaration before the exams to say they have read and understood their responsibilities and obligations.  Please pay particular attention to the mention of the use of AI for both coursework and non-examination assessments.

Exam Certificates

GCSE Certificates will be distributed to students in late November 2025 at the Y11 Leavers’ Certificate Evening – date to be confirmed.

To arrange collecting your certificates at any other time after the Certificate Evening, please email exams@thomaskeble.gloucs.sch.uk. We will provide them as soon as possible but ideally would prefer at least two working days' notice to action your request.  Please include your full name, date of birth and a contact telephone number. Once confirmed, certificates will be available to collect from reception during school hours. Please bring current photo ID with you.

A friend or relative can collect certificates on your behalf, but we will require confirmation emailed from you, authorising a named person to collect them. The person collecting the certificates must bring a form of their current photo ID with them.

We can usually only keep uncollected certificates for a year. Please email exams@thomaskeble.gloucs.sch.uk to check if we still have them. Duplicates must be purchased directly from the exam boards at a cost of about £40 per certificate.  More information can be found at www.gov.uk/replacement-exam-certificate.  You may need to quote the centre number - this is 57015.
