Our curriculum is designed to help students build a broad and deep understanding of the subjects they study. Students make progress if they are secure in what they have been taught and can apply this knowledge flexibly. What they learn now will help them access what they will be taught in the future.

We systematically assess whether students retain what they have been taught through rigorous summative assessments. In between these points, teachers use a diverse and appropriate range of formative assessment methods to check students’ understanding and retention. This helps teachers be responsive in their teaching.

Progress 8 is trending up, and in 2024 was close to being ‘above average’ as the lower confidence interval in 2024 was -0.03. Attainment 8 has remained stable over time.

The 5+ English and Maths pass rate has risen to be 7.4% above national from 2.6% above in 2023 and is now broadly similar to the regional rate from being under by 4.2% and 7.4% respectively.

The 4+ English and Maths pass rate has risen to be 11.8% above national from 0.7% above in 2023 and is now 6% higher than the regional rate from being under by 5.1% in 2023.

The charts below show the pass rates over time, with the pink line for Thomas Keble and the dashed line the national values. The first chart shows that we are in the top 23% of schools nationally for this measure, and the second that we are in the top 30% of schools nationally for 2025.

The percentage entering the EBacc group of qualifications has risen steadily over time from 16.2% in 2023 to 28.1% in 2025. Whilst the EBacc APS has risen, it has remained broadly similar over time.

There are no progress measures for 2025, but our student progress in 2024 places Thomas Keble in the top third of schools nationally.
