Year 9-11 Battlefields Visit to Ypres and the Somme

A group of 45 students from Years 9-11 visited some of the First World War Battlefield sites and memorials in France and Belgium, including Thiepval, Vimy, and Tyne Cot.  These sites and many others played host to battles which claimed thousands of lives.  TK students read a poem, laid a memorial wreath and held a minute's silence.

We hope that you find this helpful and of interest. Inevitably no site can embrace every aspect of a busy and successful school, but we are always keen to improve our information so please email us with any enquiries or comments.

We held two Open Mornings in the Autumn Term this year on Wednesday 5 October and Thursday 6 October 2016 and an Open Evening on Thursday 6 October also.  Parents who were unable to attend these will have another opportunity to tour the school in the summer term on Monday 3 July 2017.  Tours will take place between 9.30 a.m. and 11.00 a.m., and generally last around one hour.  Parents are therefore advised to arrive before 10.00 a.m.

Our Open Evening next year will be held on Thursday 5 October 2017. This provides a superb opportunity to speak with our staff team all of whom will be available on the evening. Due to overwhelming numbers in recent years, we offer a flexible evening with students and maps available to guide you on a tour of the school. An introduction to the school and the senior team takes place at 7:00 p.m. in our main hall.   We advise that you allow plenty of time to be in your seats in the hall!

On all occasions we will do our best to maximise car parking on the school site but I do ask that those of you who park in the local vicinity do so with maximum consideration to our neighbours, as I’m sure you can appreciate the difficulties that can be caused in a rural location.

We look forward to seeing you.
